Who we are
Ponteland Decorators is a painting and decorating business serving Ponteland, Darras Hall and the surrounding Northumberland communities, generally within about ten miles. We take on interior and exterior work for homes and commercial premises, and you can reach us on 07960 485 880.
This page is deliberately plain. We would rather explain how we work than fill a page with claims you cannot check. If you want to know something specific about the way we approach a job, ask us when you get in touch.
How we approach the work
Four ideas guide everything we do, and they are the same ones you will see across this website.
- Careful preparation. Filling, sanding, caulking, priming and stain-blocking are not extras. A smooth, lasting finish depends on them, so we plan time for them on every job.
- A professional finish. Straight lines, even coats, clean edges and the right paint for each surface. We will explain the options and recommend what suits the room rather than what is quickest.
- Respect for your property. Floors and furniture are protected, fittings are masked or removed, and we tidy up at the end of each working day.
- Local service. We work in and around Ponteland, which makes it easier to visit, plan sensibly and come back if something needs attention.
What we control, and what we do not
It is worth being clear about this. We control the quality of preparation, the choice and application of paint, how we protect and clean your home, and how openly we communicate. We will tell you what we think about the condition of your surfaces and what a finish can realistically achieve.
Some things are outside our control. Weather affects exterior work, and dates may move if it is wet, cold or damp. Hidden problems, such as damp, rot, old leaks or failing plaster, sometimes only show once work begins. Paint does not cure these, so we recommend the cause is resolved first, and we will say so rather than cover over a problem.
What stays with you
You decide what is painted, in what colour and when. We encourage testing colour samples on the wall and viewing them in morning and evening light before you commit. You also know your home best, so tell us about pets, children, working from home, allergies or rooms that must stay usable, and we will plan around them.

Our core area is Ponteland and Darras Hall, extending to villages and suburbs within roughly ten miles. Nearer places are quicker to schedule, and those further out are by arrangement. Our services include interior painting and decorating, exterior painting, residential decorating and commercial decorating. We can also advise on more unusual finishes, such as limewash or painted staircases.
